Wonder what made him sell- the blurred vision with each shot or the blue, yellow and green bruise on the shoulder?

Would be a great carry gun though, that's for sure.

Nice. Only downside is the 300win part. I'd love to have one in 30-06

I had a RH Model 28 ULA in 308 Win. and loved the rifle. It was very accurate with factory ammo, 150 & 165 gr, and
was a joy to carry in the mountains. If you shot a lot of rounds from the bench the recoil was noticeable with the 5 1/2
pound rifle, probably 7 pounds with scope and ammo but I never notice recoil when shooting game with it. I sold the
rifle when I stopped hunting but never regretted owning it. I am currently shooting a ULA single shot 22 LR Bench
Rest rifle and it is also a quality American made product.

my 2 cents is that rifle is a steal at that price.

One of my hunting partners left me his ULA 300Win when he passed.

With it he had taken Oryx in NM, a Buffalo on the Henries in Utah, and multiple elk in NM and Montana.

Since then I've carried it on 3 hunts filling tags on a 6X6 bull in WY, a 4X4 muley in NV, and a 5X5 Rosie bull in CA.
I've got a lot of rifles but I just continue to pick this one up when its an important hunt. Its easy to shoot off the bench for a 300 Win and I never feel it in the field.

Beautiful rifle
Won't last long at that price

A buddy has a Montana in 300WM. Very similar in weight and stock ergos. Felt recoil is surprisingly light compared to what one would expect.

That's a smoking deal. If you are afraid of the recoil, drop the muzzle velocity 250fps with handloads and it's a .30-06.

I would be shocked if it was even still there. If it were right hand, it would’ve been gone within hours of it being posted.

Hopefully someone here ends up with it.

What scope is on your NULA?

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.

A steal of a deal at that price. But I agree. Would rather see a .30-06.

I stumbled onto that ad about 15 minutes after it was posted, I was prepared to buy it but after doing some research I didn’t feel comfortable sending some random dude $2,500 for a rifle, look at the ad close, the phone number comes back as being from Alaska, he’s not a dealer, joined one year ago, I have no idea if there is any recourse on Gunsinternational for getting screwed but I wasn’t taking the chance, after more research I was finally able to find that number in Wyoming, for some hypnosis place or something so who knows maybe it is real but I wasn’t taking the chance the whole thing doesn’t seem right, for all I know it’s legit but I’m not taking the chance with that kind of money, I had the exact same rifle and sold it like a fool many years ago, the recoil wasn’t bad at all, the theory that Melvin’s stock design reduces recoil is true in my opinion and not BS, I’ve owned several. Hey Tom, it’s Jon…. we spoke on the phone a couple years ago after you bought a stock off me, HS Precision lefty, I own a couple of your rifles as well, as I’m sure you remember maybe, I was hoping to take a bear this fall with the Hoffman but got busy.. maybe this year! Lawdwaz if that 300 wsm ever becomes a burden lol, send me a PM, I’m also in NY, had I known Melvin was closing up shop I believe that is exactly what I would have ordered eventually.

Topdogjh, I still have that HS Precision stock. Haven't put it on an action, yet.

On the ULA, I might be missing something, but it looks like two different names are listed on the ad. I don't know what that means.

I got that gun from Melvin and IIRC it was built to take to the shot show that year and was available when I inquired. I’d much rather it was a 30-06 these days but oh well. I killed a bull elk and a handful of deer with it over the years. It’s due for an Opening Day, maybe this year?!?!

It’s a nice rifle and scope combo.

I have shot one in 300 WSM and it's not bad at all on the recoil-not a "shoot all afternoon at the range" gun but took maybe 6 rounds to get zero'd in at 100 yards-after that it was play time
