I remember Ration stamps for flour and sugar, tires were impossible to buy, no phone no electric power, No T.V. if you could get it Diesel was 11 cents a gallon, no gas, Victory Gardens, every thing we ate we raised, grew, or killed. we did all of our farming with light draft teams, our go to town outfit was Grand mothers wagon and team of Mares, took all day to get to town and back, usually got back in the dark. I remember not having a television. Listen to “I love a Mystery”, “Sgt Preston of the Yukon”, “Straight Arrow”, and several others that I can’t remember!

Yes, when I was small. Had a barely remembered
tutorial on correct repair with hot patches and
to put powdered chalk inside when reinstalling

Phones before even rotary dials - picked it up and heard "Number, please?"
I've still got a hot patch clamp, just so folks can ask "What the heck is THAT thing for?"
Cutting weeds with a scythe, or sickle.
Using a 2-man saw.
