Has anyone seen or shot the Stealtharms Platypus? It is a 1911 that takes Glock mags and you can custom build it on their site.
I like everything about it except the Platypus name. I do wish they could figure out a way to bobtail it.

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Curious how the grip width will be. Interesting handgun and their website is pretty slick on the config.

I never heard of them, but just played on their website. A fully custom one was $1660. Not bad...if the quality is there to match.

Their website shows a bobtail in the photos and lists it as an option on the 80% Frame.

OTOH, Springfield is building a double stack that appears to have the modular grip frame like the SV's, STI's, etc. They also use those mags. If I was again in the market again for something of that nature I'd have to look at it as well.

I don't believe the Springfield Prodigy uses Glock mags. I just checked and their website does show a metal mag that doesn't look anything like a standard Glock mag

I've shot it.
A blast, but it stinks.
Pretty slippery too.

I'd tell you 14 times rapid fire.
But no one would believe the splits!

Maybe poorly, but tried to say the Springfield double stack uses SV, STI type mags.

Oops, I guess the news to me was another wide body 1911 of a slightly different nature. And the Glock mag part flew right over my head.

Gotta wonder WITH Glock mags?
There are other choices, thin steel mags.
Not ones with 1/8" sides in an application where mag size is an issue already.
