In my case, it went on a Mossberg 464, but these are made for a number of different levers. If your eyesight isn't good enough to use open sights, a red dot/reflex sight might be the answer. I found it more useful than scoping a rifle. The location allows you to grip the rifle normally, so it carries like one with iron sights. The sight can be moved forward on the rail as well.
