We had several hundred in the stubble field across the road today. I’m not sure if it’s birds moving south or local birds moving to new fields as the snow melts but they were on the move all over today.

They may be early. This afternoon just west of Minneapolis I watched a snowy owl come off perch and glide over.

Yes, you are correct. As far as the AR you pictured it is missing a feature. Replaceable mags are a go with that.

They typically show up here in Edmonton the 2nd- 3rd week of March and sit in the snow for 3 weeks protecting their nesting sites. That's Dedication!

Lost my goose hunting place.

There are thousands of geese year round feeding every day on the grains fields along the Yellowstone River---especially around Billings.

I think most of them are locals and nest here also. I am sure the Northerns are passing over and may rest a few days, but the geese are always here !

That reminds me. I should put some CG breasts into the slow cooker. Makes an outstanding stroganoff.

My oldest son and I recently made salami using goose breasts! Smoked lbs of it. It was good. I used a Lem mix (around 6 lbs of goose and 4lbs of Boston Butt) Smoked for several hours to approx 160 degrees.

I will admit, it wasn't as tasty as the same recipe using Elk or Deer or Antelope !!

Canadian Geese are like democrats. Loud as hell, eat up all the resources, block roads, [bleep] all over the place, and have a bad attitude until you kick the piss out of them.
