A buddy has one made with 3 pieces of wood glued together to form an upside down U. Carpet all the way around, even up in the U. Snug but slips down over the glass.

It's a Montana thing. We used to shoot all of our Cottontails from the vehicle. Usually from the road !!

When I used to have a gun shop I sold a lot of rests that mounted on the window. A local guy made them (kind of like Shrapnels) and I sold them for him! They were quite popular with the out of state customers laugh laugh

I know of several guys that shot Coyotes from the Interstate 90 while commuting back and forth to work in Billings! Now I 90 is too busy.

Probably 90% of the Antelope have been shot from a vehicle. (Usually over the hood).

Obviously we have a few neophites here when it comes to shooting varmints. Too may "What if" "Have you ever" "what's for breakfast" threads that have overtaken the shooting threads that made this site great....

Try these window mounts made by Dog Gone Good. Best I have used and they are long lasting.

I've only hunted in Pa., Wva., Va.
Illegal in VA.
Not sure about other 2, but only seen "road hunters" do it.
Obviously legal in the west. Hence the question.

It is illegal to shoot from a road, but not in a pasture...

Not wanting to start a pissing contest, but shrapnel is correct as far as WY goes. I have had to use such a style of shooting since 72. If it hadnโ€™t been legal Iโ€™d have been denied a very effective way for me to shoot.

Had one tell me once.....'both feet on the ground'

As mentioned....drive in a field......the 'rimfire' dogs are skittish...they dive underground...till you leave

Set up a portable table....dogs don't know what day it is or where you're at...shooting actually brings 'em up

Utah....public lands...no dog shootin' from April 1st-June 15th....locally they are the 'white tail variety'

pic.....dogs die.......

Went around the world to make something simple! Just go to your local ass hardware and pick up some foam pipe wrap; same s hit you use to keep water lines from freezing! Its already split for fitting over vehicle windows!
