Reading about converting Ruger #1's to other calibers, rebarreling, etc makes me curious about how you handle
the different ejectors that the rifle uses?
Years ago I converted two different 30-06's. I purchased the necessary parts from Brownells.
Now, as I look, it seems that none of the alternative vendors have ejectors and I've heard that Ruger will not
sell the parts that don't match the characteristics of the rifle as it left the factory.
Appreciate any information.
Are you really surprised as Ruger has had this in their manuals for 30+ years for ordering parts.
SPECIFY MODEL, CALIBER AND SERIAL NO. WHEN ORDERING
Now one thing I ran into was with factory parts for a SCCY pistol. The customer service rep stated that some of the parts I wanted could only be shipped to an FFL from the factory due to installation requiring removal of the firing assembly completely from the frame. Aftermarket parts dealers can ship direct, but factory can’t.
