HVAC GUYS---NEW REFRIGERENT? #18206868 03/05/23

OP dimecovers5 Campfire Regular D Joined: Dec 2020 Posts: 546 Likes: 1 Under your bed	I want to replace my 23 year old 2.5 ton downstairs heat pump and not sure what I should be asking for after reading all this https://www.foxfamilyhvac.com/r-454b-refrigerant-r22-replacement/ Are the new units available now? Do they have any issues? My current unit is working but I don't want to find out mid summer if it goes belly up there is a 6 week wait for a new unit so trying to get ahead of it now. Is 16 SEER still the minimum you can use? I don't want some complicated unit always breaking to get a little bit better electric use costing a whole lot more money. Our units are on a pad outside the master bedroom window. Between single and tow stage which is the quietest? Last edited by dimecovers5; 03/06/23.
