They lost me twice, once when they dropped the 452 and then for good when they dropped the 527. Everyone of those that I shot shot very well. I've got a 527 17 hornet still and it has killed a ton of p-dogs.

Every 550 I owned was super accurate. But heavy and clunky.

2-270's
1-7x57
1- 375 H&H
2- 416 Rigby's

I wanted to buy one in 404 Jeffery, but could not find one.
If I was ever going to buy another 550, it would be a 9.3x62. I think the 550 is the perfect rifle for that cartridge.

I was wondering the same thing just a few weeks ago.

I have 3 CZ Rifles and all three will shoot amazing groups.

I have

550 FS 6.5x55
527 221 Fireball
550 American. 9.3x62

I was looking at buying another 550 in 9.3x62, but that ain’t gunna happen, hell I can’t even find a mag for the fireball.
Very disappointed that they shut down production.

Oh, and I have a Model 3 in 300 WSM, but that’s not really a CZ.

Personally, I really like CZ for what had been offered with the CZ 527. Feels to me like they have flushed there long gun market down the toilet. Sorry to share, as for their new offerings - I have no interest!

Never been guy who had any time for AR,s & pistols, So CZ, no longer has a product that is of interest to me. Sad to see them going down down down the path they have selected.

America is only part of their market, and even that part is trending away from classic rifles. Choice was probably to re-tool for a fading demand, or follow the trend and stay in business.

When they started on this change, their Euro website noted that there were plenty of older models, presumably 527s, in the supply chain. That was over a year ago, so they must be drying up. I’ve seen several 600s, and while I wish they’d kept the barrel-switch feature, some of them are pretty nice, with clever features. I have three Mausers and an FN M70 so I have plenty of CRF on hand if I think I’m gonna be charged…..

Ol’ ingwe has a 600 and loves it.

They’re making some pretty nifty pistols, and they seem to be well-regarded. I love my 75B Omega Convertible. Very old-school, and still available AFIK.

If you only have one mag for your Fireball, you might want to pick up one of the single-loading blocks, JIC.

They dropped the 550 and 527, right about the time that folks were willing to spend $1000 for a USED Rem 700 BDL.

When folks are dropping $700-$900 on USED Marlin 336’s, and $1200-$1500 on USED 1895’s.

The talk about there being no demand for blued/walnut guns sounds like the theory of some idiot middle manager, who thinks dropping MILLIONS on R&D and tooling for a clunker like the 600, makes more sense than building quality 550’s.

CZ has done alright making “retro” CZ75’s, “retro” Python’s and Anaconda’s, “retro” Dan Wesson 1911’s, and “retro” 550’s/527’s and rimfires.

Why they felt the need to schidt-can the 550 and 527, is beyond me. They could have added the 600 to the lineup, for the folks who find that interesting (I realize they’re a Euro company, but honestly, how “big” is the Euro long rifle market???), and maintained the 550 and 527.

I actually found, and bought a new CZ 600 LUX...after nine months of searching and having the company itself tell me there were no supply problems etc....FWIW I love the rifle but there is something going on making CZ miss the boat.

my 527 is my favorite rifle right now. but even I must admit its full of quirks. bolt lift and root that makes low mounting scopes problematic. the freaking backward safety?!?! good hell after all these years just fix that! The magazine and feeding can be persnikity. I have a 221 mag that just doesn't work. called CZ and they claimed they will get more mags. its like umm when? its been 2 years! The little 527 shines with short cases. 223 and less centerfires. there really isn't much out there other than a sako vixen. long out of production. the howa mini isn't really setup for smaller than 223 cases.

look don't think CZ is the only one. look at some of the other european brands like leica and zeiss. They are guilty of not knowing the US market as well. as for the pistols I dunno if those are really flying off the shelves either. people aren't buying CZ75's and P10c's in record numbers. the long gun market. I just think there are too many used rifles out there. I am probably done buying bolt actions myself. and if I did want another. how likely is it to be a new one?

the CZ 600 seems awesome, its a good step IMO to offer something unique and modern to compete. where are they? they really botched it. They should have kept the old models in production to have something to sell. The only one I have seen was a 223 with the folding metal stock. there was no notion of me want to own one. I thought it seemed very uncomfortable to shoot. it looks cool to certain people but thats it.

Yup, this ☝🏽

I’ve never seen profit and cost consultants being brought into a company, make anything about their products better, just the opposite.

Cut costs, cut employees benefits, drive increased profits margins, wreck a companies reputation, then sell to the next group of capitalists.

The only improvement to be made on the 527 would have been a blind magazine. Awesome little rifles.

And I don’t see why CZ couldn’t have built their rifles in a stainless/synthetic version. A 527 “Czechtucky” would have sold like hot cakes.

If you want a 600, go to Cabelas.
