My wife's recipe is a pound of ground deer meat, one egg, A half sleeve of crackers, half an onion diced. Mixed and cooked for 30 minutes. Covered with ketchup, mustard and brown sugar topping for another half hour. Damn it's good 350 degrees

2 parts ground beef
1 part ground pork

Finely diced carrot, onion, and celery.
Coupe cloves chopped garlic

Egg or two
Bread crumbs

Salt, pepper, thyme

Sauté the veg in a bit of olive oil, season with SP and thyme. Let cool when done.

Add veg to meat with egg and bread crumb. Little more SP. mix well in large bowl.
Don’t use a loaf pan. Form into loafs by hand on a baking sheet. Sometimes I’ll wrap it with some thin sliced bacon.

Bake until done at 375-400.

Sounds good. Gonna make some this week.

2 lbs ground beef
1 lb sausage
1 egg
1 package of lipton onion soup mix
3/4 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup chopped onion
Can of mushrooms, with the juice
dash of milk
bacon layered on top
cover with a mixture of ketchup and mustard

Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

It's Moms recipe and I make a dozen or so loafs a year for Dad when I visit. Poor old guy can't cook for nothing and this is his favorite freezer meal.

Strong work, Steve.

That probably feeds your dad for a week each month.

Cooking them In the smoker is a game changer for sure. Anyone got tips for making meatloaf more dense? Mine usually kind of crumble apart

Last time I made it.

There is one chilling out right now while the veggies get steamed.
It is ketoish. No bread crumbs, no oatmeal.
Porkrinds instead. Hope it don't suck.

I have smoked them.
Liked it even better for sandwiches, less for suppers main course.

Oh yeah.
This keto thing didn't get any glaze.
That's usually ketchup, mustard, and real maple syrup.
