I have a nice 12 ga 11-87 Sporting with beautifully figured and gloss finishd wood. Unfortunately the forend developed a small split and my gunsmith says he can fix it, but it won't be cheap.
Looking for a replacement forend,, or stock and foreend. Apparently Remington wood is really hard to find. Appreciate any help anyone can offer!

Numrich had a few a while back. They occasionally show up on eBay. If it's the normal 1100 /11-87 crack a piece of fiber backing and wood glue isn't a bad fix. I've got a few at home repaired like that

Unfortunately Remington Gloss wood in good condition is hard to find. If you find it, prices are crazy. Even the synthetics are getting pricey. Gun parts corp has some options in satin and synthetic that may work for you. I picked up the grey synthetic set they have new from the factory and it looks really good on the gun. I think it was about $140 for the set shipped

Repairing yours will be cheaper than a new one. I get $150 for good used ones.

I have never heard that term. I wonder if they mean "Light Contour"?

Chuck. I think I have a high gloss take off in the basement. Let me look. If I find it I’ll let you know. I tried to pm you but being a newer member it won’t let me

I ended up with a nice one whose color and grain matches mine really well.. unfortunately it is a matte finish. Is it difficult to go from that to the gloss "Weatherby" finish?
