You could spray cold water in them when hot - that broke the fiberglas down and added another 100 horsepar. That's what Randy Diss told me

Did that on a 55 Chevy and a 63 Impala SS as a kid.

We’d just string 12 large soup cans. 6 a side to the rear of a Datsun B210 then cruise the gut downtown.

Were chicks wearing cloaks a thing in the 70’s?

And yes my 1979 Bronco is still equipped with 14” CherryBombs, no need for a radio since you couldn’t hear it anyway. Now that I’m not 17 they aren’t as cool and will probably go when I get around to it.

We took them outta the box, poured about a cupful of gas in there and tossed in a match, leaving them in the driveway.
After they burnt themselves out, we stuck them on .
The rumble of a well tuned V-8, especially a big block Chevy, through straight pipes, is music to many an old guy’s ears!
My BIL had a ‘69 Camaro with a warmed up 350. He had short pipes that emptied in front of the back tires.
Carol and I went on a double date one night, riding in the back seat.
Till we got home both of us were deaf as a freakin post for a while!

Bought a used Mustang GT with the Coyote 5.0L a few years back and the previous owner was dismayed to find out that I had the Flowmaster 40's pulled out for GT500 factory mufflers. The 40's sounded really good but would give you a serious headache with the drone at 60mph. These days, a lot of cars pump in fake engine noise through the stereo speakers!
