hey folks,
I am curious about the switch from interrupted threads to solid threads on the takedown .when (month) this specifically took place? . some say 1920 which is a pretty large window, is there a month known ? or does anyone have lettered guns or one they have that they would like to share its production. thank you.

I'm not sure month is available without getting it lettered. Calhoun's website https://savagelevers.com/serial-number-search/ only list year. The number range in his book indicates that it was numerically in the last half of those produced in 1919.

I'll go check my 1919, it's lettered so I have a date.

Savage made ~6000 guns between 11/10/1919 and 01/02/20?

Its not lettered but I have a 1919 250-3000 with 201773 with continuous threads.

I have data on .22HP,...changed between 198xxx and 200xxx.

Probably different for each caliber/model. Plus not always assembled in serial order.

The receiver and barrel change to full threaded was on a specific date. Now I’m sure they had some barrels in inventory to use up.. and not sure how out of order receivers would be by the time they got threaded for a barrel.. but notes say it happened to all receivers and barrels made as of Aug.

All interrupted thread TD barrels appear to have been marked as being manufactured by SAVAGE COMPANY and all full thread TD barrels appear to have been marked SAVAGE CORPORATION. Does anyone have a a TD barrel that doesn't fit this conclusion?

That will depend on when they started stamping SAVAGE ARMS CORP on the barrel.

They were Savage Arms Corp. starting with production restart in 1919. So there could be quarter turn takedowns in the serial number range 193,300 to low 199,xxx range that are stamped SAVAGE ARMS CORP.
