That’s a lot of ponies for a 351, I’m at the edge of usable vacuum in my 383 at around 450 crank hp. Any more cam would require a vacuum pump.

That color! Is that "Plum Crazy Purple"? My dad's "Purple People Eater" was that color. My (blonde) mother was in the shop the night he painted it and she graduated High School with a purple tint in her hair from being in there.

Yes, Plum Crazy

Me and my cousin painted it. Basecoat/clear coat. PPG, custom mixed.
He wanted to put those ralley,ta stripes- those are hinted pearlescent in their tones.

Had fiberglass drop pin hood, flat black with pearlescent flames on it
Found a Magnum hood and went with it for current use.

Was a dodge dark blue originally. But that was boring.

Weren’t no innanet when I started building. Hauled out of backyard for $125
missing, engine, fenders, hood, wrecked in front. No gas tank, interior trashed.

Used to ride around for hours 20 county radius and look in peoples’ back yards for other challengers and try to acquire parts or parts cars.
Have a Burley tobacco barn with a lot of spare parts and 4 additional big block 383 engines stored in along the wall in my shop.

A pretty solid 427 sits under the hood of the Mustang.

Raeford;
Good evening to you sir, I trust you're well.

How about a '74 Astre GT?

The irony is that at 15, when I'd sold my motorcycles I had enough cash to buy a 3 year old car and build a 283 SB which was supposed to go into it.

Times change don't they?

All the best and thanks to all for the photos.

Dwayne

All;
The mildly built 283 went into this thing in the end.

It's a Canadian built '71 Pontiac T37 so some parts are interchangeable with the US made LeMans and some were not.

[Linked Image]

It got traded along with some cash for this '80 Toyota 4x4 just in time for hunting season in '81.

Current midlife crisis/money pit 40th Anniversary Mustang.

Thanks again for the photo feast all.

My good friend rebuilds motors he built the motor it is very nice not crazy he said and tons of torque.

It does get your attention when you punch it.
The rest of the car is what i did for after retirement it took me a year to get it where i wanted it. I got super lucky with the paint job long story but Pete Finlan aka Hotdog painted it from show Jesse James.

I thought so! He built a 64 Chevy 4 door post, 4 speed and 327/350 HP and dropped in that car. The last time I saw it, there was a 16 inch diameter tree grown up through the engine compartment.

I forgot about this one I owned for a few years. '72 Mustang convertible, 3 speed manual. Gutless 302 under the hood.

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.

Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.
