Michigan: House Passes Long Gun Registration & Permit Mandate

On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing and sent House Bills 4138, 4142, and 4143 straight to the floor. The House then voted 56-53 to pass them. These further criminalize private transfers of firearms by expanding Michigan’s permit-to-purchase and registration system to all firearms. The committee once again suppressed opposition by only allowing one person to testify against this package, despite the chair having said last week for anyone else wishing to testify to come back this week. It now goes to the Senate for further consideration.

The committee has not yet taken action on the other two anti-gun packages before it.

Politicians are what they are. It's up to the voters to choose wisely. Unfortunately, there are a lot of dems who vote for dem politcians because of the label, without looking at what those politcians are likely to do. Those voters are the enemy of freedom.

When your opposition manufactures fake votes the argument is sound that your vote does in fact, not matter. Way back about 3 decades ago democrats learned how to steal elections in Oregon, and the rest have finally caught up.

The Dems seem to be jumping on the bandwagon to pass any and all anti-gun legislation they can find. I am wondering if they can see some handwriting on the wall and are trying to get everything they can before they get thrown out. Here in WA, they are going to pass everything that will essentially ban guns period. Seattle, Inslee, and Ferguson have declared that anyone east of I5 have no rights in this state.

Things like the second amendment are not allowed in socialist dictatorships. Demographics is not on the side of a free and independent nation. Demographics..... As in the older generations die off and get replaced with the younger ones who readily accept the "new" ways of governance. Which are nothing but the same old socialist tyranny, repackaged to suit the new generations who have no idea what they are getting into. Welcome to the "Great Society", folks.

Once Dems gained control of both Houses and the Governorship, bills like this were a foregone conclusion. Don't expect that this will be the end of it. More Leftist stuff is no doubt on the way.

So, how does this pass Constitutional scrutiny? It clearly infringes on the right to keep and bear arms.
