I've got a Ruger Wiley Clapp GP100 in .357 that"s always been one of my all-time favorite revolvers but I didn't care much for the trigger. I bought a spring and shim kit and polishing kit from a company called M Carbo and went to work. The nice thing about the kit is it has a video on YouTube that shows dummies like me what to polish and how to put it all back together when finished. It all went smoothly except I had to cut one loop off the trigger return spring because it would go into total compression and bind before the hammer reached full cock. It was about 2-3 hours of head scratching to figure this out. Not only is the pull lighter but the action it is so much smoother.

All pictures shown are 5 pull averages.

BEFORE TRIGGER JOB
9lbs 10oz double action

3lbs 14oz single action

AFTER TRIGGER JOB
4lb 12oz double action

2lb 4oz single action

I wouldn't have wanted it any lighter. I'm really impressed with the results.

I don't know. The hammer swing doesn't feel weak, but I honestly can't say for sure as I haven't shot any Winchester ammo throught it yet. I haven't read any complaints from anyone who's installed this setup though.

I'll be interested in your results when you get a chance.

I'll be out tomorrow and will stop by Sportsmans and see if they have any Winchester in .38 or .357. I ran one cylinder of PMC Bronze through it and didn't have any miss fires. My next door neighbor was home and he gets a little crotchety if I do too much backyard shooting.
