My wife is right handed and left eye dominant. Hard for her to shoot a rifle or shotgun. She depends on a laser so she will know she is on target. She has less trouble with pistols as she uses both hand holding it stretched out and uses her left eye.

I have to chime in on this post.

A few yrs. ago on a Caribou hunt in No. Quebec.
After the hunters had harvested their animals, the guides
could bag two animals for their winter meat.

The fellow that had guided me said if you don't want to stay
in camp and play cards and drink, let's go. I watched him stalk
several bulls laying down out of the wind, we were with-in
about 50yds. He missed all of them. I thought that it was due to
his rifle with no front sight, a Browning A-bolt in 06.

Back to camp, we scrounged all the 06 ammo we could and
across the lake to the dump we went, they had a 4x8 pc. of
plywood set up to sight rifles in, that's when I noticed him
leaning over to left when he shot, right shoulder, left eye dominant.
We moved in to 50yds. and after quite abit of adjustment, he could hit
an area about as big as a large screen TV.

He was ready, the next morning he knocked on the cabin door and
said "hey Joe you ready, fugk it just bring your rifle"
at the end of the day, his meat was in the boat and headed to
camp.

I'm right handed, left eye dominant. that's why that video jumped out at me.

I just shoot long arms left handed. I have ever since I got my first BB gun. I shoot handguns right handed but I sight down them with my left eye.

It's never been a problem. In fact, I never thought about it until someone told me that the reason shooting lefty felt natural to me is because I'm left eye dominant.

A guy I used to shoot skeet and clays with was writing scores with his left hand,
and another fellow noticed.

"Tom, didnt know you wrote lefty, you shoot right"

"Right eye dominate, always have shot right."

Tom lives shotguns, doesn't hunt with anything else, shoots several days per week year round.

Shoot pistols right handed but aim through my left eye. Shoot long guns and shotguns right handed and just close my left eye.

The one left handed concession is archery. Left handed bows only.

We see this problem regularly on the gun range, we take a clear pair of shooting glasses and put a patch over the left lens, they are now right eye dominate. Rio7

I'm Left eye Dom but do most things right handed. Shoot pool left, long guns left pistols left. But can shoot long guns almost as good right handed. I can shoot a Xbow either, long bows left, but always shot compounds with sight right handed. Go figure.

Wifey and Sonofmine are afflicted both shoot rifle right hand and twist there head around to use left eye odd to look at
