If you got a buddy with a tractor and a subsoiler he can spend 5 minutes and make your digging job much easier. You'll have to dig the soil out after he finishes. But the subsoiler will break it up so that you just have to scoop it out.

One of these hooked to the back of a little tractor will save a lot of grunt work when it comes to digging small trenches.

Your back stationing on the horizontal graph will give you an address determination

The easiest thing to do (if they’ll do it for homeowner) is to have Rat or Alex come out and TV the main from the downstream manhole and mark off the footage witu spray paint where your Tee or Wye comes off the main.

You are a damn good Pard! We can do this making the fire great again!

Because you are full of crap and bring nothing to the table, even bcbrian and bigstick were better than you.

You need to bed it. Use fine gravel - not chunks of anything. The only pipe that will bend is PVC or HDPE. They're dirt cheap (relatively speaking) and will bend again in the same places if not more places. Replace the line, bed with fine gravel 6" deep and 6" on each side at the proper grade. When you backfill, be sure it is below the frost line. It won't burst from freezing but it will clog until it thaws.

Well Pard you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that. Just like the old ways of the campfire! 👊🙏

Yep. These days for some things my checkbook is my toolbox.

Plenty of opportunities for R50 project to turn into a chitshow.

I paid ~6500 for a new lateral last fall. They dug 2 holes. One outside, one in the basement. Replaced the cast with plastic. 32 feet worth. Never actually dug a trench.

If I went to the work and trouble of exposing any line, that line would be replaced no question. New waste line properly put back in and I never look at that area again. Priceless trade off.

I paid just under 10,000 to get off septic and put on city sewer, better than doing it myself.

Me too. Mini ex, trench next to the line to expose, remove old pipe, level and deepen trench for bedding substrate, prepare bed, install new pipe, cover, pour two fingers and get neck rub from the Redhead.

You can spend a LOT of time and money “saving” $200 worth of pipe.
