Well, almost with this one: It has a Ruger BX-Trigger and Ruger magazine. Shoots good: Five shots on 6” steel @ 200 yards.

Traveler52: How about the magazines? Do you have something against Ruger 10/22's? That Rifle you posted the picture of sure looks like a "copy" of a Ruger 10/22! My heavy barrel Ruger 10/22's (made by Ruger) sure seem to function well and are very accurate, for me. And they get done, with gusto, everything I need them to do. AND.... I am guessing, they cost a lot less than your handsome Rifle. Long live the Ruger 10/22 (and its clones). Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Some people like to buy the cheapest 10-22s they can find just for the purpose of modifying with expensive parts,
It's just about as fun as building your own AR
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

It's just about as fun as building your own AR Amen to that. Then when they go up for sale, they sit on them because no one wants to buy a $1,000+ 10-22 or 10-22 clone. Just how it is. Seen it many times at the used gun racks. I'll buy one for cheap, sell the factory parts and use that money to make it how I like it. Generally having not more than $450 into the whole rifle. That's with an upgraded stock and Kidd barrel. Shoots better than most 10-22's as well. Just how I roll though.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Or, you can spend your heirs’ prospective inheritance to make it exactly the way you want it, truly luxuriate in its exceptional performance for the rest of your life, and then leave it to your executor to worry about what it’ll sell for.

You got damn lucky on that one. I've been seeing a resurgence of used Ruger 10-22's on the market these days. Most in the sub $350 price range. One stainless deluxe I should have bought for $250!!! It had the longer barrel on it too. I would have tried to keep that one mostly stock, but would have thrown in a few trick moves to make it shoot better. Still kicking myself in the azz for not buying it. It was a clean rifle too...

I truly love getting a 10/22 together with all kinds of different parts and seeing if they shoot. If not, no big deal. Start over!!! Great thread Chipy. Thanks

I don't have anyone to leave an inheritance to so why not spend on me. You likely have heirs you don’t even know about. But, you had to earn yours, so they should earn theirs (besides, it’s good for them). Your heirs would simply need to accept whatever’s left of yours after you’ve fully enjoyed it.

That rifle is a rather unlikely hero, being something of a reclamation project. That’s the original barrel back on it again, after spending some years at the bottom of the spare parts bin while other barrels were tried, including the Volquartsen carbon wrapped stainless barrel now on the BRN-22 pictured earlier above. It’s had all sorts of stock swaps, trigger group transplants and DIY trigger jobs over the years. And, there’s been so many different scope bases on it that all but one of the mount screw holes had the threads stripped out, requiring the current Warne bases to be epoxied on with JB Weld. Yet, that poor basket case still manages to shoot good, … and look good too:

Yet, that poor basket case still manages to shoot good, … and look good too: I love me a sleeper rifle. Nice to have a factory rifle shoot like that. Fo sure.. I got to slum it with a Kidd barreled 10-22.. First time to shoot it in almost a year and a half (18 months!!!).. This old crusty ammo ^^^^shot pretty well: Crappy conditions. The weather didn't know what to do. Rain, hail, sun came out for a little while, but the wind never let up!!! The federal gold medal match, made in 1992, did well too: Weird looking ammo. First time trying it. Bought it last year for a good deal. I also got a chance to try some Norma Tac 22 that everyone was going crazy over a while back. Seems to work pretty well: I didn't shoot that challenge right, but gave it hell like usual. I wish I wouldn't have forgot the real target at home!!! That is a shoot we should shoot here, but score it differently than they do. Gnoahhh was wanting to do a shoot, that would be a good one. A timed event where score reflects 50% of the group size and 50% of the time. I started with the gun unloaded, and I noticed later that they all start with the magazine in the rifle, so that would have shaved a few seconds off the time. Maybe next time I'll do it right. I'll also use that SK match gold ammo. It seems to shoot pretty good in my 10-22. OP: Do us a favor and show us how your non Ruger 10-22 shoots. It's a looker for sure. I need to start shooting mine a little more.
