I saw a nice Baby Redfield 4x today for the first time. Thought it would be a nice vintage scope for an older .22 rifle.
I know they are old. They any good? It looked new. What are they worth?
Thanks, Fenton

My wife's Winchester Model 69 has one on it. They're not too bad, if it's in good condition. Hers is clear and good for the ranges she uses it at. They are scarce, I don't know, maybe a couple hundred in really nice shape?

I have sold a couple and they brought around $225 as I recall. They are pretty cute little scopes. Burris made one too I believe. I have one left that I need to list one of these days in my spare time.
I am always looking for factory wood stocks!

Make sure you get the 3/4" rings with the scope.

Thanks, Fenton I've owned a couple. They are 'bout cute as is possible. Mine had decent glass .. very clear. Crosshairs were properly focused. The adjustments were unpredictable. Once set and settled they'd stay put ok. One is still on a Winchester 61 my dad shoots. It was MOA 45 years ago and it's MOA today. The other one I bought for a Winchester 9422 mag and sold it with the gun. Finding rings is not easy.

Yeah, there are not many company's sitting around thinking, "Hey, those 3/4" rings are really hard to come by, we should set up one of our CNC's, tool it up, program it, and make a big run. We will make a pile of money since no one else is doing it". Pffftttttt.

My sample of one was bought about 1986 and was clear, bright, and held zero on a Remington 512.

$25 for one would be a waste of $25 IMO.

I have 2, one on a 1947 Marlin 39a and one on a early Ruger 10/22 Deluxe...both have been very good with no issues.

Fenton: I have owned several (7 or 8) of the original 3/4" tubed Redfield scopes. All worked very well for me and looked GREAT on the Rifles I mounted them on. Only have two left (on older Deluxe Ruger 10/22's). I do have two new in the box sets of original Redfield 3/4 rings if anyone is needing them. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

tyrone: Take it from soneone who knows - YOU are wrong about denigrating the nifty little Redfield 3/4" 4 power scopes. Redfield even sold some of these scopes to the folks at Browning who had their name embossed on them - the single specimen of those Brownings I owned also worked very well. IF.... you have any of those original Redfield 3/4" scopes you wish to sell I will buy them all for $30.00! With the proper amount of patience the 3/4" Redfields I have sold all brought $200.00+! So again your contention is, WAY off base. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

So typical of some on this forum, don't know WTF they're talking about. I've owned several and everyone worked as intended. At one time I had several NIB, one with each style reticle that Redfield offered. Rings aren't that hard to find if you're patient and know where to look.
