Lots of other wildflowers at the same time, including columbines, Virginia Bluebells, trillium, mayapples, and scads of violets. What fresh Hell is this?

Had some kind of blight come through a couple of years ago and wiped out most of the dogwoods in this end of the state. My mother lost some that were nearly 100 years old that her grandmother planted in the yard . There were so many, that when they were in bloom it looked like everything was covered in white. Then the dogwood trees here started dying, and there are only a few left today, compared to what once was. I love the dogwoods and redbuds, and they're among my favorite trees.
