The local Ford dealer can look at my truck on the 12th of June for suspected rear main bearing oil seal leak. Is that normal?

Less than 5-minute inspection, why the delay? When does your warranty run out??

I know it is the seal leaking, I want if fixed, they can do it in June. It's not a warranty issue. It's out of warranty, I'm footing the bill. Other mechanic shops are no better, June-July.

Body shops here are 6-8 weeks out. Repair shops are 1-2. Find a mechanic who does side work at home. Most do.

Money talks- - - -find a good independent shop and offer him 50% over flat rate labor. He will make room for a job like that. Or- - - - -get in line with the rest of the cheapskates he's working for.

You can take it to a transmission shop. Had a transmission go bad recently. I knew I had a rear main beginning to leak. W xmission out takes about ten minutes to remove flywheel to get to the problem. Worked for me on an 06 Escalade. Just another way.

I'd call another dealer, 3 months seems long.

This is Southwest Louisiana, there is an intense labor shortage post Hurricane Laura. People left and didn't come back.
