I have 4. Unfortunately I didn't get one for the 1895's and early 1899's.
1912 vintage 1899 SRC. Due to the short rear sight the dovetail is closer to the receiver ring. Serial #1278xx

1920 vintage 1899A takedown, serial #2162xx

1928 vintage 99K, serial #3094XX, this is the same length as serial #2162xx.

One of the nice things about the Lightfoot mount is that there are very few limitations on the scopes that can be mounted. The following photo shows a 7/8" Lyman Alaskan on a Lightfoot mount with rings that are probably Redfield. Any rings that will fit the Leupold mount will work.

The following two photos show the length from the barrel dovetail to the rear of the receiver ring that would be required for a Lightfoot mount for most of the 1895's and early 1899's. Mike requested that the buyer measure this distance for the early rifles. I sent him that measurement for the mount on my SRC pictured above.
1895, serial #516X

1899, serial #1809XX

1895, serial #442X, the distance is shorter possibly because it came factory equipped with a tang sight and a Lyman #6 rear sight.

This was my second 99, 1926, 303 F. Got it at an estate sale for $140. Took this nice little farm buck, 140 pounds, 7 point, right at 100 yards. 190 grain Silver Tips.

Great pic Joe, I love those 99F's with the lightweight barrel.

Lightfoot closing shop on his mounts marks the end of an era. :-( His work and service is top notch.

What appears to be the "Last One" smile now resides on my workbench. Thank you Mike!!! Can't wait to decide on a scope so I can pick the correct Leupold rings. Pictures will follow eventually.

The last HP mount came today. I'll see about mounting it tomorrow. Have to dance with the tax man first...

OK, stupid question. Which side of the gun is the "right" side? Is it looking at the gun from the buttstock or from the muzzle?

Like I said, stupid question...

If you are getting ready to tap out the rear sight, Norm is right on the button, pun intended.

All these years working on cars it's the same. Sit in the driver seat, passenger side is right, drivers side left.

Never having done a lot of work on rifles, I just wanted to make sure and not be a candidate for a Darwin award...

Thanks guys!

Blitz
