I recently bought a Savage 212 shotgun with three magazines. It would not chamber a shell with any of the magazines. 2 3/4 or 3 inch. I used a flashlight to watch when pushing the bolt forward and I saw that all the shells were 1/4 inch too low to hit the feed ramp. So the front of the shell should be aimed higher to line up. Called Savage, got the run around. So I fixed the problem myself. This is what I did. I am not saying that anyone should do this. But it solved my problem. Knowing that the front of shell in magazine needed to be higher,I built up the top front of the magazine with JB Quick. The build up at front edge of magazine was raised about 1/8 inch. The build up is about 3/4 inch long and I used a Dremel tool to smooth it so there are no sharp edges. I cleaned the magazine with denatured alcohol to assure a good bond.
Now all three magazines work properly with 2 3/4 and three in shells. Hope this can someone else. In my opinion Savage should have a recall on these magazines and build a magazine that works. Many people are having this problem. Keep Yer Powder dry, Alan

Good Ol JB Weld and a Dremel tool but then again it is a Savage😂

Glad to hear that it all worked out and in all seriousness it sounds like you pulled off some pretty solid improvisation.
