Will be in Ketchikan in July for a few days. Will have some time off to go fishing. Problem is I'll be alone and I don't want to pay the full charter for a day of fishing. Can anyone recommend a charter that is willing to allow a lone fisherman to join another group?

Wind in my hair, Sun on my face, I gazed at the wide open spaces, And I was at home.

Most Alaska charters charge a per person rate. A goggle search and a few phone calls should tell you the information you want
I would suspect a half day trip would run 300-350 and a full day in the $500 range

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I"d bet mixed groups to be the norm. I"ve had nightmare trips as a guide with mixed groups. As a guide I would prefer them to be all the same and all on the same page. But I digress.

I recall only one halibut trip where the whole boat was booked by a group that we were on. Other than that everyone I know has been on mixed groups on boats.

That's pretty much been my experience on Kodiak.
Most charters on Kodiak are full day. Half day charters take too much travel time for the full day fares.
Last time on Kodiak, 3 days was $1200.
Figure in processing, lodging, meals, airline tickets and tips and you'll spend between $4500 and $5500. ....and that's doing the trip "on the cheap"! LOL!

The halibut are fun, but I'd rather have a box full of P cod!

I am sure they will have walk on boats in Ketchikan with the cruise ships. Now getting on one that will take you somewhere good might be tricky for a charter that caters to cruise ship clients.

In my area, we have zero boats that take mixed groups. It would be an absolute nightmare.

I"m glad someone else agrees with me about mixed boats.
