Did you all ever have one? I was Renegade during the 70s and 80s hauling gasoline, propane and anhydrous ammonia around the mid west region. Was a lot of good times, I think I still have my old Cobra 25LTD somewhere. I don't know if truckers still use a cb radio or not......I don't see a lot of antennas on trucks any more...

CB’s were mostly before my time. I remember my grandpa having a CB in his truck and another one at his cabin up north. I always thought his handle was pretty cool “The Old Tomcat on the Hill.”

Mine was "The Chestnut". I'm not a leg man.
One of the more clever ones I heard was "One Dollar Bill".

Local couple............he was Ten Toes Down, she was Ten Toes Up.
Local trucker was Rag Man, his wife was Rag Lady. They had a souped up station that would drown everybody else out. She was on there every day, calling out the same out stuff........"Rag Man, Rag Man, this is Rag Lady, where are you," over and over again. I had a CB in my pickup, and mostly listened. I got tired of hearing, that, so one day I went on and said that I'd seen Rag Man talking to some good looking blonde and she got in his truck. His wife came on and gave me a royal cussing. I always figured it was worth it, because I'm sure he probably caught hell when he got home.

Working night shift security for a coal company the truck drivers started calling me Casper for being the friendly ghost. They’d have a truck broke down and three or four other drivers would be stopped to help get them moving again. I’d be standing beside them for several minutes before anyone noticed me being there, usually scaring them half to death. I never really took that name but if they called it out over the CB I’d answer.

Sidewinder with a linier and a tweety bird. It would reach out a long ways. Talked to many people 30 to 45 miles away. Then too many rachet jaws got on the channel.
