Nope...
Just under 500
Including the permit and plumber work yesterday
Told Khanarella 200 to 400.
And up to codes per new stuff plumber did.

Saved 2200 off the lowest bid....
And I know the bedding and slope is done my way, right, and not layed down in bullschit red clay and called good enough.
And passed inspection.
Even plumbers and code guys says no one beds in gravel.
They just lay it in the trench and get flow.
Thats why I encountered all the bullschit in this trench to make the pipe flow .
Half azzed lazy schit work ....
But they allow bullschitt work per codes it seems....

Thanks!

I just know if my significant other didn't have functioning plumbing...I'd have major problems.

Good luck!

So the ferncos in the ditch were a no go? I wouldn’t have used them there either. Rather then try and reset the original slab section I think I would consider just forming up a small hand mix and screed in a bag or two of pea gravel on top to match what you have as best I could… but you know what they say about opinions!! grin grin

Fernco,s were a no go.

Cantilever over that pipe with the section cuts on about 1 to 3°
Push weight to ends.
Use gravel to get slope and a couple of peices off steel to run about 8 inches away along side pipe to get the 1 to 3 °
Should have about 3 inches above pipe from bottom of slabs.

Got a general idea in the head.

Like I said earlier ferncos are as handy as pockets on a shirt, but there are places they don’t belong.
I’ll tell you what I have done before fixing an in the ditch plastic pipe. Cut a section of pipe to butt directly end to end with the existing pipe on both ends. Then I’ve taken a Drexel tool and shaved out the ridge in the center of two pvc coupleings and slide them up on the existing pipe on both sides, drop in the replacement piece and glue the hell out of them and slide the couplings 1/2 way back over the new spliced piece… it works like a charm man!
Glad you’er getting to the end of it,.. it’s almost turkey season!!

So now the women in the house figure there is no restrictions on the junk they can flush because the pipe is optimized. Huge wads of AW, wipes, rags.

Not intended as an insult Ren, more of a general observation RE: quotes and folks in general (not necessarily you) being gobsmacked at prices. If you can do it and save the money go forth and prosper. Lotta folks get a quote, say I can do it, find they can't and do it half ass or pay to have it finished. You found some historical evidence of that in the sh*t pipe trench.

My goodness, It’s called a repair coupling, very commonly available anywhere,

The ridge you cut out, Repair couplings have no ridge…….

And it’s not a ‘ridge’, let’s call it a ‘stop’ from now on ok?

Todays lesson, couplings can be bought with a ‘stop” or without a ‘stop’……..

Killing me here smalls………..

You can call it anything you want to skippy, I call it taking what you have on hand and making it work to fix the issue. And work it does, very well.
YMMV
