The boredom continues. So... Am I the only one that thinks RealTree Timber is too danged dark, and looks too much like turkey plumage? It seems to me turkey hunters get mistakenly shot more frquently than other types of hunters. I don't think I'd wear RealTree Timber in the woods during spring turkey season. There's just something about it that makes it look a bit like turkey plumage and I can see spome nearsighted baffoon pulling the trigger on someone calling when they only see the shoulder sticking out at turkey-level from behind a tree.

Most, if not all, camo is too dark as far as I'm concerned. Of all hunting, turkey hunting is the most "dangerous". We're on the ground, camoed up, making the sounds of our quarry, often times in low light conditions... When I was a hunter safety instructor, I used to get reports on all reported "incidents" for both IL and WI. Turkey hunters getting shot for being identified as a turkey always, unfortunately, were the highest number. How much camo contributed to that number is anyone's guess though.

Designed for flooded timber is probably the reason it's dark.
The last time that bear ate a lawyer he had the runs for 33 days!

Agee it's too dark for early season. That's why I switched to Natural gear pattern, blends in good with hardwood bark in the Appalachian mountains.

They make camo to appeal to our eyes in the store. My favorite camo is the old Cabela's Outfitter pattern. Comes in green or brown. Big splotches of color. Has some contrast to it. Most camo looks mono tone from a short distance away.

Spring turkey hunting grounds are a riot of green, at least where I hunt in California. I prefer a pattern with more green in it. I still use Realtree Xtra Brown from the 90's, but if I had to start over I'd get Mossy Oak Obsession.
To address the not getting shot issue, if you hunt on public land you should have an orange vest and head covering for when you move. I use an orange mesh vest and an orange cotton bandana. They weigh nearly nothing and take up little room. While seated at a tree, tie a blaze ribbon around the tree or at least one nearby. If it doesn't move the turkeys won't mind it.

My preferred camo pattern is "WalMart Clearance Rack"! I mix and match "Fit'em" and "Cheap"! 👍 There is a WMA about 1.5 miles from the house. Quite a few turkeys.....WAY too many idiot hunters! Skeeter and Possum "ain't about to pay (lease) to kill a turkey!" Especially when road hunting and poaching are (ahem!) FREE!!!!
I've been fortunate that I'm able to always hunt private ground! That doesn't factor out ALL idiots, but it reduces the odds of getting shot tremendously!

Im in the clearance camo camp and MN doesn't get dark colored until end of season.
A guy should have an orange flag to slip out if you see someone coming.
In turkey hunting safety class, we we told to say say hunter out loud and NOT wave.
I would consider tieing a orange flag that doesn't flutter above me if I was pinch point sitting.
Other than that, How was the show Mrs. Lincoln?

Tie orange tape on a tree/branch and let them know a hunter over here if one comes walking by. I have worn out a couple of the Shannon bug tammer jackets over the years (don’t know camo pattern)and they keep the mosquitoes at bay for me. Pants are several older camo patterns I switch around depending on season green up.

I only hunt public land these days. I once had a hunter line up on a friggin foam hen decoy during spring gobbler season. There's all kinds of nuts out there "huntin'". I carry a roll of blaze orange marking tape with me whether I'm deer hunting or turkey hunting and wrap it several times around any tree I'm under or near. I also tend to hang some on the straps of my vest when I am on my way out of the woods. And I usuallyu leave the blaze orange square shwoing on my back all through my turkey hunt.

Using decoys probably increases the odds of getting shot. Supposedly a big issue in turkey mortality is mistake killing of hens which makes me think some folks shoot first and worry about legal later. I’ve given my decoys away for simplification, not safety, but I’ve had a few passing hunters do a double take on my setup.
A little nearby display of blaze is probably a good idea in busy places, is actually required in some like PA I believe.
What fresh Hell is this?

Old man posting like a 35 yr old in many ways. Almost reminiscent of known sockpuppet characters on here. In the way he has been reacting.
"Pics or it never happened" poser.
Everyone is seeing your spin and deflect. Which is a familiar modus operandi many have seen on here.

No one has ever busted this clowns chops on here. IIRC..
Now he is reacting in typical poser spin and deflect mode when questioned about the slips he has made. But gladly dismiss,s stuff thinking it will go away.
Hey when you figure out " Pics or it never happened " Since you obviously don't have any hunting pics to share.
Even though you claim to be hunting in Texas in the present.
Maybe you can take a couple of pics of your joint replacement scars and show them.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
