Hi all,

Looking at the NECG universal screw-on front sight ramps with the notion of fitting a Williams, XS (low weaver) or skinner receiver sight to the rear scope mount holes or using the weaver mount peeps. Likely would be a little taller than for an iron rear sight, but not much. I would fit it with one of the brass patridge inserts.

Which height would be reasonable?

Thanks.

Just call NECG and they will do the calculation for you.

Likely 180-220 grain Nosler Partitions. So say 2400-2600 fps?

I think that I can't specify the rear peep yet. Also the vagaries of mounting a peep sight on a Weaver base will affect the height somewhat maybe.

So I guess I'm looking for what the historical norm for front sight height from barrel to top of bead, and will add a little to that.

One idea is the Skinner 860 on the back of the receiver, and an Aimpoint Micro on the front.

The other is a full Weaver bases with a weaver mount NECG or XS peep sight at rear. Then I can mount a scope on QD Warne rings and swap between scope, Aimpoint or irons whenever I like, without tools.

Revisiting this idea.

Anyone add an NECG R-107 Universal Screw-On Ramp to a Winchester Featherweight?

What ramp height did you use?

Decide on your rear sighting system before you move to the front or you're wasting time and probably money. Once you decide on the rear then measurements can be made to determine front. As suggested, call NECG
