Anyone know anything about the Chiappa 9MM M-1 carbine ?
Interesting looking little M-1 look-a-like.
Are they any good? Made in Italy. Thanks for any feedback.

Looking at Chiappa's offerings overall, I cannot be convinced that quality is there. The .22 levergun is crap-on-a-stick, as the others I've looked at, are.
Maybe they've upped their game in the past two years or so, but I'm not going to be the guinea pig to find out. I was really disappointed in that little levergun, with cast parts everywhere, and poorly cast, at that. Large gaps in places that shouldn't be open to the elements, etc.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

We've got two model 92 pistol caliber carbines, but was thinking a little auto carbine might be nice.
Looks like I might be better off looking a little farther than the Chiappa.

Edit to add; Our 92's are Browning and Navy Arms, Both seem to be good quality.

I have one. The fit and finish is good and it has been very reliable with 124gr FMJ factory ammo. Probably have around 200 rounds through it with no issues. As far as accuracy goes it's not bad, but we've mostly just shot it offhand at 25-50 yards. I like it, it looks cool next to my old Garand. Uses Beretta M92 magazines.
If I were looking for a PC carbine at that price point to do PC carbine stuff, something like the Ruger PC would be more practical. Having said that, I don't feel the M9 would be at a disadvantage doing PC carbine stuff.
I don't eat anything that didn't have a mother.

Thanks kecatt I have not seen any around but I’ll keep my eyes open for it. I at least want to take a look at one and get a feel for it. The Henry Homesteader looks interesting too but I don’t think I’d touch it for the price. Personally I’d be more of a Ruger PC Carbine kinda guy but I like the more traditional look of the Henry.
