Time for me to get into .300 Blackout. I want an upper with 16" barrel, pistol gas system, to be used with a suppressor. It will go on a Daniel Defense lower.
Don't want to go cheap, and don't need to go DD, although I can. It will be used for hunting varmints and such and not for tactical playtime.
What makers does the 'Fire like?

I have a PSA that I’m more than satisfied with. Only thing I own from PSA, it’s on a Colt lower right now.

Stripped or barrelled?
I've only purchased one barrelled upper. It was a PSA AR10 in 7.62/.308.*
I've assembled several AR's. I've used SOTA in the past. They were okay. I won't say exceptional, but they worked just fine. The majority of the time, I used Anderson Mfg uppers and lowers. They are inexpensive, but I've never had the first problem. All were top notch. 👍
* - at the Academy in Corpus Christi, TX, I asked the "ammo lady" if she had any "three-oh-eight" ammo. "No. We're out." So I asked what she did have. She started out with, "We have 7.62×51...." "I'll take 2 boxes of that, please!"

Another vote for PSA. I have quite a few uppers a few lowers from them. No complaints

Not sure I follow. You have an Aero Precision but are suggesting PSA for a first look?

Well Had a guy build me an AP BLK....Shilen barrel PSA will offer the best pricing for the upper you're looking for My AP BLK complete was $960 before glass back in '15 Although lost it on a rafting trip down on Utah's Green River
