I feel we Vietnam vets have left a legacy we can be proud of.
Somewhere in the period after that war was over we informally promised ourselves we would do what we could to make sure everyone in the services heard that they were appreciated.
I think we have done pretty well at that.
Semper Fi fellas. Well said, and true! Another thing our generation of Veterans can be proud of.

Thanks to all of you that served there. The ignorant masses you met when you came home and the despicable treatment you got was a blight on our nations history but enabled those of use that served in combat later to be treated much better upon homecoming. We stand on your shoulders.

I tip my hat to all who served over there, especially the ones who flew those routes that LBJ gave to North Vietnam in advance of the missions.

In honor of my good friend who gave his life for his Country. We both enlisted the same day right out of high School. My Mom told me John was home on leave when I just got home. He had served one tour and the Marines told him if he would get an early out it he went back for another 6 months. He went back and came back in a body bag. I am greatly diminished and humbled by his sacrifice and all the others who never got a real chance at life. I will always remember him.
JOHN RODNEY SCHURRER
CPL - E4 - Marine Corps - Regular
Length of service 6 years His tour began on Apr 14, 1968 Casualty was on Jun 18, 1968 In QUANG TRI, SOUTH VIETNAM HOSTILE, GROUND CASUALTY ARTILLERY, ROCKET, or MORTAR Body was recovered Panel 56W - Line 28
Its all right to be white!! Stupidity left unattended will run rampant Don't argue with stupid people, They will drag you down to their level and then win by experience
