I have a sealed can of Winchester's WSL powder I would like to use for .38 special. It was discontinued quite while ago. I have found data for shotgun reloading with WSL and was told that Winchester did publish some handgun data for it in one of their free manuals.

I don't shoot shotguns hardly at all but like to practice with my revolvers. The burn rate chart I found that showed WSL, placed it just a little faster than Unique but it being a ball powder and not a flake powder I would like to see some pressure tested data for it.

I would appreciate it if somebody can point me to some reloading data for it.

Phasmid, yes older WW manuals had data for WSL, I should be able to lay hands on one when I get home later this afternoon.

The 13th edition ©1993 shows WSL 38 Special data "Under Development"

The 14th edition ©1995 has WSL data for 38 Super, 9mm, 40 S&W, 10mm and 45ACP, but not 38 Spl.

The 15th edition ©1997 has WSL data for 38 Super, 9mm, 40 S&W, 10mm and 45ACP, but not 38 Spl.

The next thing I have is the 2006 edition which is after Hodgdon acquired Winchester powders and has no data for WSL.

I don't know if there are any editions between the 15th and the 2006 guide, but it doesn't look like 38 Spl data was ever developed.
