In my travels I meet quite a few folks that were involved in the construction of the Comanche Peak power plant in Glen Rose, Texas during its construction between the late 70's and early 90's. I worked there for Brown and Root between 1982 and 1990 and go to wondering if any Campfire members were also involved in the construction, or subsequent operations?

I've worked on the turbines themselves, which are Allis Chalmers or Westinghouse, I cannot remember.

The reactor was a Westinghouse design, don't recall the steam turbine manufacturer. You are a millwright I presume?

My buddy worked on Project Mgmt on that job. My deer lease is not far from there. Same buddy has a ranch not too far. When you turn out of his gate you can catch a glimpse of those twin peaks first hill you crest.

I drove an 18 wheeler and hauled quite a few loads of timbers to the site in 73-74. They were doing the earth work for the dam and digging the tunnel to divert the water.
