So far, so cool. I think we brought all this bad weather with us. But over all settling in. Nice to have blue skies even with the cool temps, rain and snow.
New house in Cedar is stalled by the weather. But their supposed to pour the slab Saturday. Should all things to get going again.
From the sounds of it I probably won't be doing any deer/elk hunting any time soon.

We’re expecting another foot out of this last storm, fortunately most of it is melting everyday. Or unfortunately, as mud season is epic.
Weirdly enough, still almost no runoff yet.

I saw a coyote on highway 40 the other day. A rarity considering they have a bounty on them in this state. He looked very well fed… Healthiest critter I have seen all winter.

Our drought has been so severe for so long that these snow/melt/snow cycles are wonderful. The melt just soaks in and down, down, down.
Got another 10 inches overnight. Monday's "footer" had almost completely melted from hard surfaces and nearly so off my lawn. I have my bird feeders where the snow doesn't accumulate, and the birds are hitting them HARD. I managed to hobble out to one suet feeder when the ground was bare, and they devoured it in three days. Can't get there now, sadly.

Dusting here this morning. And that makes me happy.
as Dutch said, mud season here is epic as in way "better than normal".
Haven't heard of any substantial wildlife losses yet. DFW flew and collared elk and I heard the herds aren't in bad shape. Then again, they're not up in the high country either. Someone reported seeing a herd of elk up on Fandango Pass the other day, but that's only 6100' or so in elevation. Our herds here are lucky, there's a good bit of undeveloped low land they can get to if the snow gets bad.
