I have a sealed can of Winchester's WSL powder I would like to use for .38 special. It was discontinued quite while ago. I have found data for shotgun reloading with WSL and was told that Winchester did publish some handgun data for it in one of their free manuals.

I don't shoot shotguns hardly at all but like to practice with my revolvers. The burn rate chart I found that showed WSL, placed it just a little faster than Unique but it being a ball powder and not a flake powder I would like to see some pressure tested data for it.

I would appreciate it if somebody can point me to some reloading data for it.

Phasmid, yes older WW manuals had data for WSL, I should be able to lay hands on one when I get home later this afternoon.

The 13th edition ©1993 shows WSL 38 Special data "Under Development"

The 14th edition ©1995 has WSL data for 38 Super, 9mm, 40 S&W, 10mm and 45ACP, but not 38 Spl.

The 15th edition ©1997 has WSL data for 38 Super, 9mm, 40 S&W, 10mm and 45ACP, but not 38 Spl.

The next thing I have is the 2006 edition which is after Hodgdon acquired Winchester powders and has no data for WSL.

I don't know if there are any editions between the 15th and the 2006 guide, but it doesn't look like 38 Spl data was ever developed.

Thanks to all who responded. You guys are better than Google! The Nosler data should work fine as a reference. Thank you SotG for going the effort of posting that.

My pleasure. As said, approach with caution.
