As I travel south on US interstate highways I am surrounded by miles and miles of enormous crop land .

How the hell do you guys keep your rows so perfectly straight?

When I was a kid we picked out something on the horizon and steered at it trying to keep a straight line. Planter marker helped keep the same line (approximately) the rest of the field. Today we mark the perimeter of a field with a Ranger and gps globe and transfer the data to the planter tractor. Times have changed slightly...

I remember those markers farmers used to put up on fences around the fields. Lots used old tires painted white.
