You are not the only one who could not figure it out. When I click on the photo, it wants a link. I have no clue what to do next. My photos are on my hard drive.
Mike did you and Gary hammer out a deal for him to continue production or is the Savage fraternity SOL? Speaking just for me I wouldn't volunteer to try to fill your shoes. I hope someone does though.
I can see it now, 100 years from now they'll be talking about a pre and post cutoff point in the production of the Lightfoot mount....

Mike, I am a big fan of the Lightfoot mount as you know. That said, what is the "takedown mount"? I don't think I have seen one. I know you are done making them but can you post a photo or description please? Thank you! Bob

the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded. Robert E Lee ~Molɔ̀ːn Labé Skýla~

The early takedowns have the rear sight closer to the receiver ring so the mounting holes have to be extended to the rear to accommodate that. I preferred to do that on a case-by-case basis. This ended around the 220K SN range so above that the sight dovetail is fairly consistent +/- .050"
Suffice to say That dallased will get the last 1895 mount and blitz will get the last HP takedown mount.
I am actually building them concurrently to save setup time on the various steps in the final fitting and finishing.
It is nearly over...
Hooray for me. To the best of my knowledge it will be going on a very old .303 Savage, hint, hint. The other one is on a 1923 .300 Savage. It just don't get any better than that.
