A friend of mine showed me the cut wad trick maybe 35 years ago. I think he kept one in his coat while bird hunting to use on a deer if he had a chance.
Tried it on a cliff face about 100 yards away, hit in one spot about like a slug would have.
Yeah, plenty of times, 12, 16, & 20. I was surprised at the accuracy out to 50 yards, but I never tried it on Bambi. 7mm

I remember when I was a kid being told this is what gangsters used to shoot thru doors of automobiles. 😊

"Come, shall we go and kill us venison? And yet it irks me the poor dappled fools, Being native burghers of this desert city, Should in their own confines with forked heads Have their round haunches gored."
Drunk ass cousin showed me that trick on a 30 pack Busch box 1000 gal propane tank 50 yds behind🤦♂️I thought about the propane tank the next day 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Take a high brass 12ga shell, empty the contents of the cup. Add 5, 55gr JHP or FMJ .223 projos. Should sit flat in there. Pour a fuzz of wax in there and let it sit. When you fire, the cup will come off and you'll get those projos tumbling. It's hell on ballistic gel with two layers of jeans. Tumbles like a MF.
Edit to add: cup comes off, wax comes apart and you've got 5 projos tumbling like hell. Just got clarity due to my poor posting skills.
Elmer's glue injected into a shell does the same thing- - - -and the possum cops have a hard time catching it. A spiral cut on the hull is very obvious.
Shot a lot of them when we were kids. My Grandfather told us about using them during the depression , and both world wars when buckshot and slugs were hard to get. There weren't any deer, but we're still a few bears.
As a kid out goose hunting we wanted to spoke a flock up that was put of reach up the river. Someone said I wish we had a slug to scare them up with. That's when we got an idea.
