glad to have come upon this site. Like watching and reading about mainers and yukoners lifestyle. So much info. on the 9.3 that I had Jessie rebore my 03-mk1 springfield. It served many quite well at a terrible time,(1942 >). So I decided to build (with the help from Jessie O.) on a historical solid foundation, a new history in making. Now have to start finding and stocking up on ammo.

Keep an eye out sgammo.com ... they don't have anything in 9.3x62 right now but seem to get new stock on a weekly basis. They've consistently had very affordable prices on 9.3x62 hunting ammo.

Grafs does pretty dang good keeping ammo and components in stock for the 9.3 ...
It's you and the bullet, and all the rest is secondary.

FYI: the ammo from G&S isn't really cheap. It's for a box of 10, not 20.

I hope your rebored Springfield works out well for you. JES rebored my 1932-vintage '03 to 9.3x62 and it's very accurate.

I had bought some .275 Rigby ammo from G&S recently & it was standard 20-round boxes. The case of Norma 6.5x55 SE that I bought, same thing. So I made a wrong assumption on that 9.3 ammo.

Shooter's Pro Shop has closeout blems on the 20ct Safari Solids for 9.3x62. They're about 50% off, but unless you're really going on safari or doing grizzly overwatch, I'd probably hold out for the cheaper stuff. It pops up all the time.

For what it’s worth, the PPU 9,3x62 has been fairly accurate in my ruger. I use it on hogs and it’s very effective. Never done a post mortem on one so I have no idea how well the bullets held up, but it certainly plants them. The brass is decent also. The 9,3 is one of my favorites

I had couple boxes of S&B 286. My sauer 100 did not like them. Mainly bought them to get on paper and get some brass. Loaded up some accubonds with Varget and I was MOA…I hate how varget measures.
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

The 9.3 is such a great caliber. I had a CZ 550 Medium with a "hogback" stock that I loved. I used the PPU ammo. a lot back then and I remember it took me quite a while to figure out they were 286 grain bullets! I had to get rid of my rifle since my pacemaker doesn't allow me to shoot a rifle with much recoil anymore. For those who have not fired one, the recoil is not all that bad either. I think I may still have some Speer 270 grain bullets if anyone needs them. Remind me if you do and I will look and see what I have. I'm always willing to trade for lead pistol bullets.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I'm boarding a plane today with my 9.3x62mm. I'm feeding it 300 gr. A-Frames in front of RL-15 and LR primer.
When I get back I'll be working up loads using the same bullet in both RL-17 and Big Game, then compare / contrast.
It's you and the bullet, and all the rest is secondary.

For moose and bears, I went to JB's formula with 250 TSX and Varget. I've taken moose to 380 yards with that load.

The 9,3 is one of my favorites PPU is a bit on the mild side, and I like their brass. For just shooting use their bullets when you can find them at Graf. It's an easy round to reload and surprisingly accurate with whatever you feed it.
