We are heading to niagra the end of may and will be staying on lake ontario. Trying to figure what to take in fishing tackle and bait. We will be there for a week and may do a day charter to.

I would think that the steelhead, should be running in the rivers.
They certainly will be, further north.

The place is full of smallmouth bass, the king of them all [IMHO]. I went several years back & fished mostly the river. I used 6 & 8 pound line with 1/8 & 1/4 ounce jigs. It was a wonderful trip. Here is Barbara with one.

Guess it all depends on what you want to fish for. Charter would be fun. It’s got some big fish out there. Including salmon.
