I like the FCD plate but I think the Holosun 507c has a bigger window and is a better dot than the RMR.

I love my P7. Haven't carried it, but its such a fun gun. I like the 19 MOS plan though. Been thinking of a sig P365 like it.

Both choices are solid and reliable. I have never shot a P7 but i would love to. The P7 still has a very high cool factor. At times HK has made some really bad ass weapons.

When I bought my wife a Lincoln. I told her she could have it or half a dozen Kia’s.
Same with the P7M8. It’s worth about a half dozen Glocks.

For a modern fighting pistol you made a smart move. Personally, I would have gone with a slim G48 MOS with Shield 15 round magazines. Top that with a Holosun or Trijicon dot, add a Surefire or Streamlight weapons mounted white light and shoot the heck outta it.

When I was working at a small gun shop on Long Island back in the 1990s, we got in a shipment of retired German police P7 pistols. Nice mechanical shape, but you could see minor honest wear on the finish of each of them. Price was very reasonable. I'm thinking like $400.00 apiece. I was very tempted, but ultimately let them all go without buying one. I got a discount, too, as an employee. I should have picked one up just for the cool factor.

You should've picked up a dozen as investments! Amazing what they sell for now. I bought one of those retired P7M8s and had it hard chromed, wish I'd bought more.

Took a ride to Europtics store front. They had a nice selection of dots on display from Trijicon, Holosun, vortex and a few others. Settled on the Holosun green 2 moa dot/ 32 moa circle. Through my eyes the green dot was a more crisp sight than the red.

The only downside of the green for me would be the shorter battery life.

What’s the difference in battery life between green and red?

I could be wrong, Holosun list both colors to the same 50,000 hour battery life. I recently shopped for a dot sight for a rifle and the green dots had a significantly shorter battery life than red dots. I prefer green over the red, I think I pick it up faster. Given a choice any tritium or fiber optic sight I have is going to be green. I have a Trijicon and a Leupold optic with green dots and a Trijicon and Holosun optic with red dots.
