Winchester model 70 short action stainless steel this action started out as a standard bolt face that has been modified for the 300 WSM bolt face ,rails ,magazine box and follower have been changedthe action works very smoothly. This is a control round feed action with the large claw extractor that will work for any cartridge with WSM bolt face or the magnum boat face for short magnum such as 350 Remington magnum 6.5 Remington Magnumis. I've had three different barrels on this action one was a 270 WSM one is a 300 WSM and the other was a 416 wildcat that I designed a few years ago and I took to Africa a couple of times action works perfectly with any of the short magnum WSM style cartridges no problems at all the bolt face was opened to standard belted magnum size which works both with the 404 case and the 375 the action feeds in ejects perfectly I've never had a problem with feeding with a head nything I've done with it anyhow the feet rails have been slightly opened to work with a short magnum the following is the factory original 300 WSM magnum fall over the box is also what are the new factory boxes I'm a proponent of the short magnum cases and they'll do basically the same thing the long magnum switch the 375 H&H case will do put in a much shorter hand your rifle if you want any other photos please send me a an email to FRANKWELLS 1942aol.com and I'll take some butter some more pictures of it and send it to you by email reply
