I've run across a HK P30L V3 that I've kinda taken a liking to. I've never owned or shot one and opinions seem to range from "the best thing since sliced bread" to "the most over rated pistol ever built."

Wadda ya think? I've pretty much got anything I would need this pistol for already covered but, seems like a cool gun.

Theyre cool, but different.
Takes some getting used to.
Overpriced, overhyped?
Maybe.
Can say that about anything.

I will say they're solid pistols, but H&K has yet to build a pistol that I just gotta have. They just don't do it for me.

That said, if I ever find a P9S for a reasonable, I will be an H&K owner.

Funny this thread came back up today. I just came home from buying it. Like Hickok45, the closest thing I have to compare it to is a Sig P226 9mm Legion. They seem pretty close in size and weight. Of coarse I haven't shot it but it seems like a really nice pistol so far. It fits my hand well and the trigger is acceptable. I think the trigger on the Sig is a little better but it should be for the extra $450 it costs. I like the slide release much better on the HK and the mag release will have a learning curve to it. So far the only thing I hate about it is the de-cocker. That thing is like a toggle switch. Push it and the hammer comes crashing down without any control of the speed. I'll be at the range with my ear protection on and the pistol pointing down range before I try it with a live round. I rarely use one anyway. It's probably going to be a few weeks before I get to shoot it. That'll give me time to go back and re-watch all the John Wick films so I can say stupid puns before I shoot it. In the meantime all I got is "Yeah, I think I'm back." Sorry crazy

The P9S was way ahead of its time.

I'm starting to like the mag release too. At first it seemed strange but after messing around with it it's feels natural to just drop the trigger finger down and press it. I really like the slide release. It's easy and fast. The de-cocker....well, it's out of the way. I guess that's something.

I had a P30LS. There was a lot to like about it: super accurate, spring/part replacement intervals are very long, mags last forever.

I was shooting IDPA at the time and putting a lot of rounds downrange on a timer. I found that I'm more accurate at top speed with a Glock, so down the road it went.

Solid piece, though.
