I've got a buddy that's interested in a T3 Lite in 7-08. I've seen some posted on here before and wonder if anybody can give me an accurate weight on the rifle.
Beretta's website shows the Camo version at 7 3/4 lbs. and the black synthetic at 6lbs. 3oz. This is obviously a typo in the catalog as they are the same rifle, but I'd like to get a confirmation from somebody who owns one for him.
Thanks

Pretty light just over 6 pounds. If memorey serves me right it's 6 pounds and 3/16's.

The non magnum calibers with the shorter 22" barrels are 6 lb 3 oz and the magnum calibers with the 24" barrels are 6lb 6 oz. Having owned both models at one time.

The two I have are exactly 6lbs 3oz with rings. 308 & 30-06. Undoubtedly the best bang for the buck.

They're light no doubt, but what about the difference between black and camo stock weights? Anybody have or had both?
Surely, this is a typo on Beretta's website...

My .308 win weighs 7#'s 3 oz's with the factory rings and a vari X III 2.5-8. I always thought I wanted a lighter rifle (aka kimber montana) but I don't think I could shoot a lighter rifle with any accuracy. I have a hard time shooting it as well as my 7mm rem free hand at 100 yards. Off the bench however this gun outshoots my 7mm everytime!

Bigbuck-welcome to the Fire, what part of Minne do you live in? I grew up or perhaps I should say got older in Detroit Lakes and moved to Montana in 78.
Thx

I'm curious guyz, does anyone know if Talley makes their light weights for a T3? Seems to me that they do?
And by the way the last T3 300 WSM I weighed (black syn) had a 3-9 VX2 on it and it weighed in at 7 lbs and 3 oz's on an el cheapo fishin scale.
If I ever own a WSM again it would be in one of these rigs.

Yes, part no. 930714 for the lows. My buddy just ordered a set to go with the new rifle.

The factory rings are just as light and "I" have never had a issue with them. Dave

A note about the Talley Rings.....
I ordered some recently and the screws were not threaded correctly. Apparently Tikka changed the threading and so the Talleys will work with some Tikkas, but not others.
If you get a set with the wrong screws, let Gary (at Talley Manufacturing) and he will send you a different set of screws to try.

Dober if you want a tikka, you might as well go with a long action caliber like 300win since you are stuck with a long action anyways. as to the rings, people, there is nothing wrong with the factory setup, they are lightweight and just as good as a talley unless you wanna use steel rings

Dave it seems to me that the T3 rings were 6 ozs for the pair, isn't that about 2x as heavy as the Talley's and or no?
Thx

The camo version does not weigh any more then the black version. I have weighed both at the local gun shop.
For the Talley's vs. stock rings, the stock ones do weigh a little more. Only by a couple ounces but they are heavier. I have owned 3 of the T3's and used the factory on 2 of them and used the Talley's on the other. It was a 300 Win Mag and I didnt know if the stock ones would hold up.
Dont think you could wrong with either though. Some of the ones that were coming out last year had the Opti-Lock rings with them (none of mine however).
Nice rifles overall, just wish they'd find a cheaper replacement magazine.

Don't think you could wrong with that choice either.
I own both the 270WSM and 300WSM in the T3. Conquests ride atop each one and they're held down by Talley steels.
Don't need to elaborate on their accuracy and smoothness......I don't think either has been mentioned as an issue. That would be a good endorsement right there............

Just had a .270 crap out the factory rings after about 40 rounds. I pulled the mounts to duracoat and the peg was distorting the mount, nothing horrible but it was definitely starting to give. I went with the one piece dednutz mount and like it alot, goes about 3ounces on my trigger scale.
