Watch out gents, I am in the pic-postingfraternity now!

Somehow it seems the Bud Light is not moving as quick as it once did on a holiday weekend….

Around here we catch them with our bare hands then try to hold on.

My record is a long three count.

Many years ago. Probably in the late 80s if I"d venture a guess. I was invited on a spring turkey hunt. Carried one of our 10 gauges along. As I recall a single shot that time.

Had one chance at a tom that was a fair ways out. 65 ish yards. 2 birds. Shot the tom on the right. Flopped him dead and flopping. The one on the left fell and went to flopping too. I ran as fast as I could. No clue why I didn't reload and go shoot him. Got to him. Grabbed both rear legs. Held on. I forget how he ended up dead. But it wasn't pretty for what seemed like a few minutes. My memory thinks death may have been a combo of him beating me with wings good and me trying to swing his head around into trees. Its very possible he bled to death in the middle of the circus though. Nope. No pics. So it really never happened.

Guys I went with and I had a few good drinks that night around the fire. Arms were pretty sore for a while too.
The problem is you grabbed it by the rear legs and not the front legs.

Great story, Jeff

At the time holding onto a turkey I thought was going to be dead, and it trying to fly away with all its might, I was at least glad I'd grabbed the legs and one with each hand and was lucky enough to have been hunting with leather gloves on that evening. It wasn't great until it was over. Could have gone either way. LOL

Damm leave the frozen northern waste lands at age 19 and I still have the mental anguish of being a dammyankee.
And here I am almost 60 and just can't shake the stigma of it.
