I haven't seen one in about 35 -40 years. My friend just got one in on a multi-gun trade deal. There is nothing special about the gun, plain 30-06 in hunted condition. Very few listed anywhere. What kind of money for an unaltered hunted with gun? Do these command any collector interest? I am going to take a look at it probably later today. I would think it should bring at least $450; it should be worth more than a Savage Axis you would think?

ETA: I took a lot at the Savage Super Sporter. It is in very nice condition: deep rich blue on the metal and the stock has nice walnut. It has the bottom magazine release and schnable type forend and both front and rear sights. There are sling swivel eyes in the stock. The only detractor is there is a shallow gouge about 3/16" wide and 1-1/8" long in the forend on the right side. It is in very good condition. I would think at least $500 as a nice shooter unless these have a following then a bit more. It is the nicest one I have ever seen.

There's one a 30-30 for sale here in Canada for $800.

It should have 2 holes drilled on the back side left of the reciever for a Lyman 40 or 40s peep sight all factory installed and sold that way. Some may not have the Lyman sight itself but should be factory drilled for it. I just sent a 40s to Jeff a few days ago ,but only had the one ,and it's still in the mail for a couple more days .

Very little collector interest that I've seen, but who knows what the future will bring.

I recently bought a mint 45 in 250-3000 'cause it was part of a package deal where I had to buy both rifles to get the one that I actually wanted, a really nice 99H in 250-3000 with a Lyman Alaskan in Redfield mounts.

45s came with the Lyman #40 factory installed and a folding open rear sight in a barrel dovetail.

40s came d&t for the Lyman #40, but only came with the open rear sight in a barrel dovetail.
