If one has read "Unfit To Command" about Kerry, no surprise.
He ran from gunfights with his boat (the SOP was every boat stood fast and poured fire back at the incoming), he inadvisedly, and against protocols , grounded his boat so he could personally run down and kill a kid (who had apparently shot at them) to prove his "bravery" and then put himself in for a s Slver Star, and, after he was elected, blocked legislation intended to try to force NV to disclose what happened to dozens of MIA. Co-incidently enough, a couple months later a close relative (BIL?) was awarded a 10 million dollar contract to clean up a Vietnamese harbor of war debris.
Whether any clean-up was actually done, I never heard.
Kerry gives "worthless, traitorous POS" a bad rep. He is also the only person I ever heard of that got 3 purple hearts and never spent a day in a clinic or hospital. Just sayin... One was a small fragment pulled from his skin, covered with ointment and a bandaide. The medic refused to put him in for the PH, so he did it himself. (again, IIRC). One was self inflicted (tossed a grenade into a bin of rice, wounded by shrapnel- don't know if it was metal or just rice), the other I don't remember- possibly legit, tho minor IIRC, he was in and out of Vietnam in 90 days, due to the 3 wounds policy. I read somewhere that for the time frame, he was the most highly decorated GI in the war.

That brings back memories. When I was younger I did flooring work. My stepfather was a flooring contractor. Usually we would make cuts off of a roll of carpet and load them. Sometimes we would have to take the whole roll and make cuts at the jobsite. We would load the roll up in the van, and bungee the rear doors as much as we could with the roll sticking out. Three man crew, only two seats so I always laid on the roll towards the front hoping my stepfather didn't hit the brakes too fast.

I would not buy something that runs on any kind of primer given the possibility of primer shortages and even regulations. In fact, why not buy a flintlock? Really. Rocks aren't going away anytime soon.
