Wet out in the morning before first light but turkeys were moving and gobbling as soon as it got light. Got him just after they came down from the roost. Nothing says the Northwest like a totem pole. 😎 The property I have permission to hunt has this by the front gate so I stopped there for some pictures. Thought it was pretty cool. The valley’s prettiest turkey gun got another one. Cheap Remington Nitro Turkey #5s at about 25yds. 9+” beard and nice spurs all around a great morning. I am blessed.

Nice work, headed down there Friday for a week and a couple birds hopefully.
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.

There seems to be plenty of birds here in the central valley. Saw 3 more toms with a group of hens on my way out to the road. I thought they would not be chasing the hens this hard, this late, but maybe all the rain we’ve had has moved everything back a couple of weeks.

Pretty gun, and not your typical utilitarian camo'd shotgun. I have some guns that are a little nicer looking that my normal camo'd guns I use turkey and deer huinting that I'd like to try. If I'm able, I want to take my Citori out. I also picked up a new Browning Maxus II Hunter. Traded an unused .300 Win Mag for it. It's very light. I may take it out on Thursday. It's got a 28" barrel, but so what.

Do it. 👍😁 turkeys don’t really care. I don’t own a “turkey” shotgun. Just shotguns I use for turkeys. They all work in the usual way. Granted in some really hard hunted areas you might need the extra stealth. But there is usually a good place to hide in the shade under a tree to get them. I hunt in the fall with my 20ga Browning Citori Grand Lightning. Seems to work ok. If you want a dedicated turkey shotgun by all means buy it. They are cool and get the job done. If your cheap like me, hunt with what you have. They make prettier pictures too.
