Southeast folks, Any of you heard any hooting yet? ...specifically GROUSE hooting? Was out last weekend on a hike and didn't hear anything, curious to know if you've had better luck.

First weekend in April I heard one up at Eaglecrest while nordic skiing on the upper loops.
Only folks getting them right now are using snow machines.
Friday is looking sunny and warm - should be a good day to take a spin and listen or just get some hiking in. Guns are sighted in.
Best to get away from town on a boat. The low-lander birds on Admiralty are a best best until more snow melts.
On another note, saw eight different mountain goats from the work parking lot yesterday. Get to glass them from the office window too!
